LondonHi there!  My name’s Konrad Sanders. I was born and bred in the big smoke of London. And as the son of a graphic designer/photographer/interior designer, I was introduced to the world of art and creativity pretty much from day one. Drawing, painting, writing and creating stuff have always been huge passions of mine … In fact, if you gave me some coloured paper, scissors and a gluestick right now – I could probably entertain myself for hours!

I took art as one of my A-Level subjects, at the Blackheath Conservatoire of Music and the Arts – where my final exam piece was a large collage portrait of Johnny Rotten (from the Sex Pistols), made from newspaper cut-outs of the May Day riots and everything to do with Punk culture and anarchism in the UK. You can see it here! I then explored my creative talents further with a foundation course at Camberwell Art College, part of the University of the Arts London, where I dabbled in fine art, illustration, graphic design and pop art.

As you may have guessed, I like drawing and painting faces… Trying to capture an accurate likeness andLichtenstein Marilyn with it the emotions and personality of the person beyond the face, is something that has always fascinated me. I have also always been in love with the great pop art artists and their work – Andy Warhol, Lichtenstein, Eduardo Paolozzi, and have been influenced a lot by their bold, iconic and cartoonish styles. Another influence of mine would have to be the great Impressionist Degas, as I love his use of loose, flowing colours combined with detailed, linear outlines.

Bringing together my love of the human face and pop art has allowed me to create artwork which I feel is approachable, not just for art critics and connoisseurs, but for the average Joe. A style which isn’t too abstract or pretentious- but is modern, stylish and can be enjoyed in your living rooms and bedrooms, or in cafes, restaurants, pubs, hotels… Pretty much anywhere at all! I wanted to be able to offer very affordable pop art portraits and paintings that you – as the customer – can be actively involved in creating. So that we can work together to achieve the exact piece of artwork that you’ve been dreaming about.

My artwork has been sent all over the world and always receives excellent feedback from customers, no matter where they’re from. And don’t worry – your painting will be wrapped up safe and sound in bubble wrap and a sturdy cardboard box. You can see what some  of my recent happy customers have said in the testimonial section here.

Interior design also fascinates me, and I am currently collaborating with interior designers to create stylish sets of artwork that compliment the interiors of pubs, bars, café’s etc.

One of my future goals is also to promote the art of other amazing artists that I know. To connect the awesome artwork of talented, struggling artists with the world!

So… Was there anything else you wanted to know about me or my artwork?
